Jacqueline began her training in St Austell, Cornwall at the Capitol School of Dancing before moving to the Cardigan School of Dancing in South Wales at age 14. At 16 she pursued training in London's West End at the Urdang Academy, Covent Garden, graduating with a Diploma in Musical Theatre.

A seasoned professional, Jacqueline has travelled the world as a singer, dancer, examiner and choreographer — working extensively for numerous awarding bodies and teaching at many independent schools across a wide range of dance styles and LAMDA Drama grades.

Jacqueline holds Fellowships with the ISTD, IDTA and BTDA and is a Registered Teacher with the RAD. Her qualifications include the BTDA Level 4 Diploma in Theatre Dance (Classical Ballet & Modern Jazz) and the ISTD Certificate in Dance Education in Imperial Ballet, Tap Dance, Modern Theatre and Disco Freestyle. In 2005 she became an approved FDI & CDE Tutor at Goodman Dance Centre, and in 2008 gained her DTLLS through the BBO & Trinity College.

Jacqueline is currently an examiner for RSL (ex Stageschool) examinations, an All England Dance Adjudicator, and a Director and Principal Examiner for Urdang International Awards. She has a vast experience in teacher training — having successfully coached many new teachers through Ofqual-accredited programmes.

Jacqueline chairs the Gravesham Performing Arts Festival committee in North West Kent, and has chaired several volunteer dance groups and causes throughout her career.

Bird College Carl Alan Award 2014 IDO World Champion IDO European Champion

Kirsten trained at Bird College under the tutelage of icons Len Goodman and Liz Burville. Her professional career has taken her around the world — performing on cruise ships for Carnival and Princess Lines, appearing on Top of the Pops, CDUK, the Pepsi Chart Show, This Morning and TVAM, and featuring in commercials for Bernard Matthews, Halifax and Sky TV.

As a member of the London Theatre of Ballroom she performed in stage shows and corporate events across the country, and toured Europe with pop group Sash before founding Taboo Dance Company and channelling her extraordinary experience into teaching.

Under Kirsten's direction Taboo has won the prestigious Carl Alan Street Dance Award (2014), reached semi-finals of Britain's Got Talent (2010) and Got to Dance (2009), represented England at Dance Excellence in Hollywood, appeared on E4's Stage School (2017 & 2018), and claimed the titles of IDO HipHop World and European Champions.

Charlotte is our very own alumna and star of the stage — better known on stage as Rose Hadlow. As a former student who has walked in your shoes, she brings not only her extensive experience but also an intimate understanding of our academy's culture and values.

With a first-class honours degree in Professional Dance and Musical Theatre from Bird College, Charlotte has honed her craft to perfection. She is also an esteemed Associate of Trinity College London and holds the RSL Level 4 Teaching Diploma — a testament to her expertise and dedication to education.

As our competition team coach specialising in Musical Theatre, Charlotte's dynamic approach challenges students to push boundaries and elevate their performance skills — diving deep into character development, vocal technique, and captivating storytelling through movement. Her career has seen her shining brightly on stage in numerous professional pantomimes and showcases, and her ongoing Master of Arts in English Literature enriches her understanding of narrative and character depth.

Sophie Hyde

Sophie Hyde

LLCM ALCM Post-Grad Opera Studies (TCM)

Sophie's parents founded one of Europe's oldest performing arts management agencies in the 1960s, managing prominent Opera Singers, Conductors and Producers. Her stage debut was at the Royal Opera House at age 9.

She studied at the London College of Music, gaining her LLCM and ALCM, before completing her post-graduate Opera Studies at Trinity College of Music. Her godparents include Opera Singers Plácido Domingo and Martina Arroyo; she has been mentored by Mary Hammond, who coaches West End productions including Les Misérables and Mamma Mia, as well as artists including Coldplay and Katherine Jenkins.

Sophie's son was crowned BBC Chorister of the Year 2016 and awarded a place in the National Children's Orchestra — a testament to her family's extraordinary musical legacy.

LISTD LIDTA Laine Theatre Arts

Laura brings a wealth of experience to our teaching faculty, having trained at the prestigious Laine Theatre Arts. She went on to build an outstanding career in dance education, teaching and running Limelite Stage School for over 15 years — demonstrating both her passion for the art form and her exceptional ability to lead and inspire.

Throughout her career Laura has successfully coached performers preparing for vocational college auditions, produced professional-standard shows and summer schools, and mentored students who have gone on to achieve careers in the performing arts industry.
